Telangana - BRS candidate for Warangal LS seat withdraws

SIBY JEYYA
Dr. Kadiyam Kavya, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi's (BRS) nominee for Telangana's warangal Lok Sabha seat, has chosen to withdraw from the race, dealing a severe setback to the party. She announced her decision to withdraw from the competition in a letter sent on thursday to BRS President and former chief minister K. chandrasekhar Rao.

The party's reputation has been harmed by recent media exposure concerning party officials addressing claims of corruption, encroachments, phone tapping, and alcohol scams, according to Kavya, the daughter of prominent BRS politician and former deputy chief minister Kadiyam Srihari.

She said that the party suffered greater harm as a result of the BRS leaders in the district's lack of collaboration and coordination.

She explained her decision to withdraw from the race and thanked kcr for providing her with this chance by designating her as the party's candidate.

After Pasunuri Dayakar, the current MP, was not given a ticket, the BRS decided to field Kavya. Dayakar joined the congress because he was irritated by this.

Dayakar was elected from warangal, a constituency set aside for Scheduled Castes, in both 2015 and 2019.

The BRS suffered its most recent setback following a slew of party leaders defecting to the congress or the bjp since it lost power around four months ago, including five serving MPs and one current MLA.
