Indian student in London, cycling back home, dies after being run over truck

Last week, a 33-year-old indian student was riding her bike back to her central london residence when she was struck by a lorry, resulting in her death. Cheistha Kochar was a former employee of niti aayog who was a london School of economics PhD candidate in behavioural science.
 
The former Lieutenant General Dr. SP Kochhar, the director General of the Cellular Operators Association of india (COAI), was the father of Cheistha Kochar.
 
He stated that he is still in london "trying to collect the remains of my daughter, Cheistha Kochhar" in an emotional LinkedIn post.

"She was run over by a truck on 19 Mar while cycling back from LSE, where she was doing her PhD. It has devastated us and her large circle of friends. If you have had any memories with her and if you wish to share them, you may do so at the following link. Can be testimonials, photos, videos or stories. You may even share this with others if you desire," he wrote alongside a link to a memorials page.

The london Evening Standard reports that on march 19, the event occurred at around 8.30 p.m. (local time). Cheistha Kochar was discovered seriously hurt when police and paramedics were rushed to the scene between Farringdon and Clerkenwell after the collision.
 
The london Evening Standard quoted the Metropolitan police to state that the 33-year-old passed away at the scene in spite of the efforts of emergency responders.
 
According to a police spokeswoman, the truck driver pulled over at the site and is presently assisting authorities with their investigations.
 
Thus yet, there has been no arrest in this case.

Police have made an appeal for anybody with dashcam footage of the accident or witnesses to come forward to contact them.
 
Her former niti aayog CEO, amitabh Kant, expressed his condolences on X.
