Premalu Leads Gaami in USA Box Office

A portion of the audience responded well to Vishwak Sen's most recent release, which was helmed by debutante filmmaker Vidyadhar Kagita. This was evident in the film's opening weekend earnings in the United States. "Gaami" made Vishwak Sen's first half-million-dollar gross ($575,059), however after the first weekend, the movie's revenue drastically decreased. It's interesting that by the second weekend in the United States, "Premalu," the telugu version, which had extremely poor receipts at first, had gradually gained traction. Over the second week, the telugu version topped "Gaami's" box office receipts.

"Premalu" telugu has made $237,187, which is a remarkable amount considering that it is a malayalam movie with no notable actors. However, the Telugu-dubbed version's over $200K revenue is noteworthy. Karthikeya, the son of Rajamouli, purchased the telugu dubbing rights and made every effort to promote the movie to theaters. The young demographic's word-of-mouth also contributed to the positive results. Seldom does an unadulterated telugu movie, particularly one with an unconventional approach like "Gaami," lose against a malayalam dubbed movie like "Premalu."

According to the most recent information, Premalu, which has already locked Disney+ Hotstar as a partner for OTT streaming, may start to broadcast on Disney+ Hotstar on march 29. This is a provisional OTT release date for this box office hit; an official announcement is still pending. Premalu is the type of carefree performer who has the potential to become a huge OTT trend.
