Los Angeles police will be more visible on sunday night in anticipation of demonstrations against the Israel-Hamas war at the Academy Awards, in an effort to keep the program from being interrupted. At least one group "would like to stop the Academy Awards," according to a story by The New York Times that quoted the Los Angeles police Department. social media posts provided some of the intelligence that the police obtained.

The war in ukraine may also be the cause of protests.

Even though the awards season has mostly taken place in a vacuum, politics may still come up because the presidential race is currently in full swing.
