According to the dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), news agency PTI stated that in an effort to increase travel between india and the gulf country, dubai has launched a five-year multiple-entry visa.

2.46 million indian tourists came to dubai last year, a 25% increase over the pre-Covid-19 epidemic period. With a remarkable 34% year-over-year rise, this statistic has elevated india to the top source market, according the most recent DET data released on february 22. The city said that 1.97 million indian tourists visited it in 2019 compared to 1.84 million in the same time last year.

For a period of five years, eligible indian nationals can now take advantage of the ease of repeated entrances into dubai, with stays of up to ninety days each. Once, for a comparable duration, this visa may be renewed; however, the total stay cannot exceed 180 days in a single year.

After receiving and approving the service request, applications are processed in two to five working days, making the visa issuing procedure exceptionally rapid.

In order to be eligible for the visa, applicants must fulfil certain conditions, such as having health insurance that is valid for use in the United Arab Emirates and having a bank balance of at least $4,000, or its equivalent in foreign currencies, for the past six months.

According to DET, travellers may take use of the initiative's many entry and exits, which offer operational flexibility for business meetings, leisure travel, and seamless connection, as reported by PTI.

"Dubai introduced a five-year multiple-entry visa to further bolster travel between india and dubai, to foster sustained economic collaborations and encourage tourism and business ties," according to the DET.

According to Bader ali Habib, Regional Head of Proximity Markets at the dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, "India will continue to play an integral role in enabling us to achieve the goals of the D33 Agenda, further reinforcing Dubai's position as a hub for business, investment, and tourism." india is a key market for Dubai.

"Our inbound visitation from india in 2023 was outstanding, contributing to a record-breaking performance by our tourism sector," he stated.

According to Habib, the action would open up opportunities for improved commercial cooperation in addition to enabling indian visitors to travel to Dubai.
