Telangana Congress faces uphill task to implement six guarantees
The telangana congress administration has a difficult task ahead of it in carrying out the electoral pledges with only three weeks remaining before the 100-day deadline for implementing the six assurances. After taking office more than 70 days ago, the party has been able to carry out just two of the six commitments that it made.
A week from now, chief minister A. revanth reddy has declared that two more promises will be fulfilled in anticipation of the next lok sabha elections. The government has significant challenges in identifying recipients from among the 1.29 crore applicants and implementing additional pledges that are part of the six assurances. Out of all the pledges on which congress contested the assembly polls, there are thirteen major commitments. The annual cost of putting these pledges into action is more than Rs 1 lakh crore.
On Wednesday, chief minister revanth reddy declared that the commitments to provide 200 free power units to each family and a cooking gas cylinder for Rs 500 will be carried out in a week.
Priyanka Gandhi will be invited by the congress to introduce the two programs. The party's campaign for the lok sabha elections is probably going to officially begin on this occasion as well.

The other major promises made under six guarantees are house sites and Rs 5 lakh for building houses for Below Poverty Line (BPL) families; a monthly pension of Rs 4,000 for senior citizens; financial assistance of Rs 12,000 per year for agriculture laborers; 500 bonus per quintal for paddy crop above the Minimum Support Price (MSP); monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500 each for women from BPL families; and vidya Bharosa Cards worth Rs 5 lakh each for students.
The congress fulfilled its commitment to provide free transportation for women on state-owned telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) buses as soon as it took government. Additionally, it increased the coverage under the BPL families health insurance program, Rajiv Arogyasri, from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
The government now needs to pay an additional Rs 300 crore each month for free bus rides for women.

On the other hand, the congress party restated their pledge to carry out the promises within a hundred days. The Budget for 2024–25 that was put up for voting included Rs 53,196 crore for guarantee implementation.

He stated that the Mahalakshmi guarantee alone would need to provide Rs 50,000 crore for the initiative to provide Rs 2,500 per month to all women.
Union minister and state bjp president G. kishan reddy also levelled the blame at the congress, claiming it won power on the basis of unrealistic claims and hasn't fulfilled a single commitment.
The leaders of the congress, however, denied the accusations made by the opposition parties and asserted that efforts are being made to carry out the commitments.
