"We are not Pakistani," Leaders of farms voice concerns...

In a five-plus-hour meeting on thursday night, farmer leaders discussed their concerns on the activities of security forces against the protesting farmers with three Union ministers. They made it clear that they preferred a peaceful outcome over conflict. At two areas along the Punjab-Haryana data-border, demonstrators and security personnel were engaged in a standoff that was taking place during the discussions. Following the meeting, Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) coordinator Sarwan Singh Pandher told the media that the cabinet ministers had been reassured by the leaders of the farmers' union of their "commitment to dialogue."

Pandher voiced concerns about the current state of affairs, pointing to things like social media account suspensions and the use of tear gas in otherwise amicable encounters. "We said we are not Pakistan," Pandher remarked. We are looking for a nonviolent resolution, not conflict. They promised to relaunch our pages, and we reassured them of our dedication to communication." He went on to say that the goal of the conversation was to resolve the problems.

"We discussed all of our demands with the Center during our conversation. We talked about trying to solve the problems. According to the ministers, they need time. In order to prevent any conflicts, we hope that a peaceful solution may be found. We still plan to travel to Delhi," Pandher continued. The president of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta Sidhupur), jagjit singh Dallewal, said that the administration asked for more time to fully examine the requests of the farmers. "After a thorough conversation, the government agreed to hold more talks and acknowledged the necessity for debate on shared debts and MSP. Following the conversation, the government stated that a thorough examination of the demands is necessary. The next (fourth) set of meetings is scheduled for Sunday," he stated.
