Will OTT Audience be Kind to Saindhav?

Lights, camera, or flop? It appears that the latest trend in town is to release films on streaming services faster than you can say "action." Take Nandamuri kalyan Ram's Devil, for example, which debuted in theatres only two weeks before hitting OTT. Producers are scrambling to limit their losses, releasing early wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">digital debuts of films that did not do well in theatres.

Enter Saindhav, Venkatesh's 75th film, which promised to brighten the sankranti festivities. Unfortunately, it didn't. Despite having major stars like Venkatesh, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shraddha Srinath, and arya on board, as well as Sailesh Kolanu at the helm, Saindhav went down like a lead balloon. The film failed from the outset due to weak music, lackluster promotional material, and a weighty premise. It is now making its grand wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">digital debut on amazon Prime Video, barely three weeks after its theatrical flop.

Will the OTT audience give Saindhav another chance? With Venkatesh's reputation and some interest in the film, there is a slim chance for redemption. The audience would be respectable in the first few days because many people did not see it in theatres. While its theatrical run was a failure, let us hope that its internet launch on amazon Prime Video on february 3, 2024, has a positive reception.
