Nagarjuna Akkineni's Safe Game

SIBY JEYYA
The producers of Nagarjuna's Naa Saami Ranga hosted a celebration last night, and the main character, Nag, had an unexpected news to make. He said that he will return next Sankranthi with a new film. nagarjuna has made it a point to have a Sankranthi release whenever feasible, which has worked quite well for him. After the smash hit Soggade Chinni Nayana, Nag had a relatively successful Sankranthi season with Bangarraju and, finally, Naa Saami Ranga.

He's also announced a film for the next Sankranthi. He did not divulge any specifics about the project, but he did provisionally reserve the Sankranthi time. Nag looks to be attempting to play it safe by scheduling a release every Sankranthi. This may appear to be a blatantly safe game, yet it serves Nag's purpose. Rather than flicks like Ghost and Wild Dog throughout the year, Nag's arrival during Sankranthi with an entertainer is a fair bargain.

He is, nevertheless, supported by a large family audience and is experienced in releasing films that perform well around Sankranthi. Perhaps it is time to end his trials with underperforming directors and stick to his tried-and-true technique, which is working for him. In this manner, fans are happy with entertaining Sankranthi flicks from their star, but the producer is also likely to be on the safe side with guaranteed income. This also stabilizes Nag's market, allowing him to make occasional filler films that he enjoys.
