Box Office - HanuMan Taking On 2nd Superstar
HanuMan performed admirably at the box office, despite facing stiff competition from superstar Mahesh Babu's guntur Kaaram. It held its own in the home telugu market before dominating guntur Kaaram ($2.6M) in the United States, grossing $4.4 million. After successfully taking on one celebrity, Mahesh Babu, HanuMan is now taking on another, this time in the hindi belt with Hrithik Roshan.
Hrithik's fighter was released on the 25th of this month, and despite a slow start, it performed admirably on the second day and is currently dominating the box office. Despite the appearance of fighter, HanuMan managed to maintain its position at the hindi box office on Republic Day. On Republic Day, the film grossed an additional Rs 1.75 crore nett. The figure may appear little, but with the presence of a big bollywood celebrity film, HanuMan performed well at the box office.
With the positive nett addition the other day, HanuMan has reached Rs 40 crore nett, and notwithstanding fighter, it will reach Rs 50 crore before the end of its hindi run. HanuMan did not have a breakout phase in hindi to reach the three-digit mark, but for a telugu superhero picture with a mythological undertone, this run is adequate.
