Months after the India-Canada controversy over Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar's assassination, Justin Trudeau's government has now declared it will review the alleged indian intervention in its last two general elections, in 2019 and 2021.

This comes after a Bloomberg story last year said that Trudeau launched an investigation following the release of intelligence information to the media. These papers claimed that china intervened in Canada's elections by promoting candidates who supported President Xi Jinping's regime.

The panel stated on wednesday that prime minister Narendra Modi's government would be examined, according to Bloomberg. According to a report by Global News, Canada's federal committee of investigation into foreign intervention is investigating suspected indian influence and if india played any part in influencing the two votes (2019 and 2021).

The panel also stated that it has requested that the federal government present documentation on such allegations. The commission's inaugural hearings will begin on monday (January 29), and will focus on the problems and constraints of exposing secret national security information and intelligence to the public. The commission's interim report is scheduled on May 3, and the complete report by the end of the year.
