Day to honor furry neighbors-National Squirrel Appreciation Day!!!

On National Squirrel Appreciation Day, we celebrate the adorable animals, interact with the natural world, and show our appreciation for squirrels. Every year on january 21, the US celebrates this day, which provides an opportunity to discuss conservation efforts pertaining to small creatures that are essential to the ecosystem and help with reforestation. Give your furry neighbours some food on your front doorstep in honour of National Squirrel Appreciation Day. Go to a park, observe how they play around trees, and observe how they behave. To find out more about squirrels, you may also watch a documentary on them today.

National Squirrel Appreciation Day's history

A squirrel's range encompasses five continents, with the exception of australia and Antarctica, and over 250 species. They belong to the family Sciuridae. National Squirrel Appreciation Day was established in 2001 in Asheville, north carolina, by wildlife rehabilitator Christy Hargrove, who is connected to the north carolina Nature Center, as a way to honor the animals. By giving the animals food and drink, Hargrove hoped to inspire people to treat them with kindness.
