The congress party's promise of "free travel in rtc buses for women" played a crucial role in their electoral success in both karnataka and Telangana. However, the implementation of this promise has led to various problems, with incidents of fights in buses becoming a common occurrence, similar to what has been observed in Karnataka.

One of the issues arising from the implementation of free bus travel for women is fights over seats. The buses have become significantly overcrowded, and finding a seat has become challenging. The increased occupancy rate has contributed to clashes in various places. Recently, a clash broke out in a bus in siddipet, Telangana.

RTC buses are reported to be consistently overcrowded due to the free bus travel policy for women, leading to conflicts over seating. In the specific incident in Dubbaka constituency of siddipet district, two women engaged in an argument over a seat, eventually resorting to physically attacking each other with sandals. The incident occurred on an rtc bus departing from secunderabad for Dubbaka city center in siddipet district.

The video capturing the clash has gone viral, highlighting the challenges and conflicts arising from the overcrowded buses and the scramble for seats. Before the implementation of the Mahalakshmi scheme, there were approximately 12-14 lakh female passengers in rtc buses. However, post-implementation, this number is expected to surpass 29 lakh. The occupancy ratio of rtc buses has risen from 69 percent to around 89 percent, contributing to such incidents occurring more frequently.
