According to Joy Tirkey, the deputy commissioner of police for the northeast, these officers will work in two shifts. "Two distinct shifts are ready for deployment. The first shift begins at 5:00 p.m. and ends at midnight. There will also be a second shift from 12 to 6 a.m. In addition, the delhi Traffic police, which has 2,500 officers, would send out 250 teams. On New Year's Eve, these squads will be responsible for investigating allegations of drunk driving. The laws will go into force on december 31 at 8 p.m., according to Special Commissioner of police (Traffic), SS Yadav.
