The sandalwood coffin where Vijayakanth is buried has the words "Puratchi Kalaignar Captain Vijayakanth" National Progressive Dravida Kazhagam Leader. Vijayakanth's birth and death dates are also mentioned in the sandalwood ark. This special sandalwood ark is made from 50kg sandalwood blocks. Vijayakanth's funeral procession is taking place amid a flood of people and his body will be cremated shortly. His body is carried in procession in a chariot decorated with flowers. Thousands of fans are paying tribute by throwing flowers and tears in his funeral procession. A large number of volunteers also participated in the funeral procession carrying the DMDK flag.
