As the funeral procession of Vijayakanth has started, lakhs of people are bidding farewell to Vijayakanth with tears on both sides of the road. Vijayakanth, the indispensable actor of tamil cinema and the leader of the Democratic party passed away yesterday morning due to ill health. He was pronounced dead of pneumonia. Later, as the funeral procession of Vijayakanth started, lakhs of people bid farewell to Vijayakanth with tears on both sides of the road. Vijayakanth's body will be cremated at the DMDK office shortly. The captain's body will be cremated with state honors with 72 blasts.
The sandalwood coffin where Vijayakanth is buried has the words "Puratchi Kalaignar Captain Vijayakanth" National Progressive Dravida Kazhagam Leader. Vijayakanth's birth and death dates are also mentioned in the sandalwood ark. This special sandalwood ark is made from 50kg sandalwood blocks. Vijayakanth's funeral procession is taking place amid a flood of people and his body will be cremated shortly. His body is carried in procession in a chariot decorated with flowers. Thousands of fans are paying tribute by throwing flowers and tears in his funeral procession. A large number of volunteers also participated in the funeral procession carrying the DMDK flag. Volunteers have participated by chanting captain and heroic salute to the captain.
