He briefly dabbled in real estate before entering politics. revanth then joined the telangana rashtra samithi (now BRS) in 2001, but left shortly after. He ran and won as an independent MLC candidate from mahbubnagar district in 2007. Later, he joined the telugu desam party (TDP) and became a staunch supporter of its leader, N Chandrababu Naidu.

For the first time, he was elected mla from the kodangal constituency in 2009. In the subsequent elections, he kept his seat. After telangana was formed, the tdp retained 15 MLAs in the state legislature. Naidu selected revanth as the party's working president of telangana, smelling gold and dreaming of governing both telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Sensing the winds of change and the TDP's successful eviction from telangana, revanth and several other tdp leaders joined Congress. However, revanth was defeated in 2018 by trs (now BRS) candidate Patnam Narender Reddy.

Arrested for Bribery
The election of revanth reddy as TDP's telangana president might cost trs (now BRS) a lot of money, and kcr was fully aware of this. Aside from his astute political acumen, revanth is an outstanding orator. revanth, like kcr, can draw large audiences. This was observed during rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo yatra last year.

Former tdp colleague payyavula keshav told The news Minute that revanth intended to destabilize the massive Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) more than becoming chief minister. This ambition grew after he was caught red-handed bribing a government official in 2015. He was imprisoned at the same time as his sole kid was getting married. He was, however, allowed to attend the wedding for a few hours.

Revanth swore to crush kcr in his homeland after being released from Cherlapally prison. "My only agenda in life is to dethrone kcr and make his family irrelevant in politics," he told a cheering throng gathered outside the jail.

Overcoming the infighting
In 2017, revanth joined the indian National congress, which was in disarray at the time due to the meteoric ascent of the BJP's narendra Modi. Over the previous five years, revanth has cultivated the image of being the only politician in telangana capable of challenging KCR. Within a few years, he was elected president of the telangana Pradesh congress Committee.

Revanth was portrayed as Telangana's congress data-face during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. "During the Bharat Jodo yatra, when we were planning which leaders should be visiting their constituency, everyone asked for revanth reddy," a karnataka congress leader told india Herald.

But it hasn't been an easy ride. Many members of the congress party disagree with Revanth's politics. venkat and raj Gopal Komatireddy, the Komatireddy brothers, dislike Revanth. Uttam Kumar Reddy, former congress state leader T Jayaprakash Reddy, and v Hanumantha Rao, all of whom have previously held top posts in the party, were dissatisfied with Revanth's appointment as state chief.

What ultimately counts is that congress was able to completely beat BRS under the leadership of revanth reddy, who is now poised to occupy the highest political role in Telangana. According to rumours, he will be sworn in as the State's chief minister on december 7.
