Jharkhand govt to airlift worker from its state

The jharkhand government had declared that it would fly workers from the state who were among the 41 persons trapped in the Silkyara tunnel in uttarakhand following their recovery. In total, 15 jharkhand laborers were trapped in the tunnel.

Ambulance, team doctors on standby

A team of medics is stationed at the site to do preliminary health checks on personnel as soon as they are evacuated from the tunnel. An ambulance has also been stationed within the tunnel, along with 30 others on the scene to provide emergency services if necessary.


Pieces of steel embedded in the debris were cut, and drilling continues

According to one member of the rescue operation team, the pieces of steel that came up during the drilling process have now been chopped and removed. Personnel are digging further into the wreckage to reach the workers. "Rescue operation is almost in the last stage, I hope the result will come in 1-2 hours...pipeline is being inserted to take out the workers...the steel pieces that were stuck in the debris were cut and removed," the rescuer went on to say.

How much digging is still left?

According to Colonel deepak Patil, who is coordinating the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) rescue attempts, work on building a 12-meter pipeline at the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi to rescue 41 personnel is still ongoing.

Steel rods discovered embedded in the wreckage were cut and retrieved by people from andaman who joined the operation. "The front part of the last pipe was damaged; work on cutting it is currently underway." We need to connect two joints, which will take 6 hours. "At the moment, only a 44-meter pipeline is being laid officially," he explained.
