According to three reports, at least four persons were killed in an Israeli hit on the town of Beit Yahoun in south lebanon on wednesday evening. Following the Oct. 7 incident in southern israel by the Palestinian organisation Hamas, violence along the data-border erupted. israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah, a Hamas ally, have exchanged missile fire amid escalating combat.
The Israeli military claimed in a statement that its fighter jets attacked Hezbollah facilities in lebanon, and that its troops and aircraft targeted two cells that shot at Israeli forces or attempted to launch rockets into Israel. The Israeli military did not respond immediately to claims that four individuals had been murdered.
On Tuesday, an Israeli attack near the data-border with lebanon killed two journalists working for a Lebanese tv station and a third person, according to Lebanese official media and the channel, Al Mayadeen. According to Al Mayadeen, the hit, which occurred near the hamlet of Tir Harfa, about a mile from the Israeli data-border, was intended to target the tv crew since the station was known to be pro-Palestinian and pro-Iran's regional military alliance. Lebanese prime minister Najib Mikati criticised israel as well, stating in a statement that the strike was an effort by israel to muzzle the media.
