As Israel's military expanded its air and ground attack on the Gaza Strip on saturday, hundreds of thousands of protesters staged demonstrations in cities around Europe, the Middle East, and Asia to voice support for the Palestinian people. Aerial footage from one of the largest marches in london shows sizable people walking through the heart of the city to demand that prime minister Rishi Sunak's administration call for a ceasefire.

"At the present, the superpowers involved are not doing enough. Protester Camille Revuelta stated, "This is why we are here: we are calling for a ceasefire and for Palestinian rights, the right to exist, to live, human rights, and all our rights."

"Hamas has no bearing on this. "This is about defending the lives of Palestinians," she continued.

Similar to Washington's position, Sunak's administration has supported humanitarian pauses to enable assistance to reach Gazans but has refrained from advocating for a ceasefire.
Britain has backed Israel's right to self-defense following the Oct. 7 onslaught by Hamas, which israel claims claimed 1,400 lives, the most of them civilians.

A daily report issued on saturday by the Palestinian health ministry stated that since Israel's shelling of Gaza started three weeks ago, the death toll has risen to 7,650, the majority of whom are civilians.

Western governments and a large number of individuals have shown significant support and sympathy for israel in the wake of the Hamas assaults, but the Israeli reaction has also caused indignation, especially in Arab and Muslim nations.

A sizable group of protestors in malaysia screamed slogans in front of the US embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

Speaking to a throng of supporters at a massive event in Istanbul, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan reiterated his position that Hamas is not a terrorist outfit and called israel an invader.

Israel chastised Erdogan severely last week for referring to the extremist organization as "freedom fighters".

A worldwide boycott of Israeli goods was demanded on saturday by Palestinian demonstrators in Hebron and Iraqis who participated in a demonstration in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

"Don't contribute to the killing of the children of Palestine," they were shouting.

People flocked to the streets of Stockholm, Rome, and Copenhagen and other parts of Europe.

Since the start of the conflict, certain French towns have outlawed demonstrations out of concern that they might exacerbate social unrest; but, on saturday, a modest rally was held in contravention of the prohibition in Paris. The southern city of Marseille saw a march by several hundred individuals as well.
