The UN has issued a warning, stating that it is about to run out of gasoline in the Gaza Strip and would have to drastically scale back aid operations in the region that Israeli bombings have already destroyed. The World health Organisation reports that about one-third of Gaza's hospitals and more than half of its basic healthcare facilities are no longer in operation.

Israel banned petrol supplies to Gaza earlier this week, citing concerns that the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas may use them. However, it did permit a limited number of vehicles transporting humanitarian aid to enter Gaza from Egypt. On Thursday, the conflict between israel and the Islamist Hamas organization in palestine reached its twentieth day. On both sides, there have been almost 7,500 deaths.

At least 6,546 Palestinians have died and over 17,000 have been injured in the retaliatory bombings that the Israeli Defence Forces have been conducting in Gaza since october 7, according to the health Ministry, which is administered by Hamas. Over 100 Palestinians have lost their lives and 1,650 have been injured in the occupied West Bank.

On october 7, Hamas launched an offensive on Israeli communities from the Gaza, resulting in the deaths of over 1,400 persons, the majority of whom were civilians. In addition, it is estimated that during the operation, Hamas seized and transported into Gaza at least 222 individuals, including foreigners. Since then, four of them have been set free.

Here's what has happened in the war between israel and Hamas:

• Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on television on wednesday that his country is getting ready to launch a ground invasion of Gaza, but he did not provide any more information or specific dates for the operation.

• Netanyahu stated that the government's special war council, which included the head of a moderate opposition party, will decide when Israeli forces would invade Gaza.

• More than half of the 220 hostages that Hamas is believed to be holding are foreigners, according to the Israeli authorities. Among them are 54 Thai nationals.

• According to French President Emmanuel Macron, israel would be making a mistake if it conducted a significant ground invasion in Gaza. Any action of any kind will put civilian populations in danger, he continued.
