Hyderabad airport metro works: Complete in 36 months!?
The airport work will start next month. L&T has bagged this prestigious project which is 31 kilometers from Rayadurgam to the airport. An official announcement on this matter will be released soon. 13 international giants competed for the construction of the Rayadurgam-Airport route. It is known that in the end, NCC stood in the ring along with L&T. These two companies have come forward to undertake this project with Rs.5,668 crores. Thus, taking into account the vast experience in the field of construction, the qualifications required to undertake metro rail construction, authenticity, skilled human resources, machinery, construction methods, constructions completed so far in various fields, experiences in airport metro construction, etc. Officials say they have been selected.
L&T has already built a 72 km metro rail line in hyderabad city. With this, L&TK will also hand over the prestigious airport Metro Express project. On the other hand, the government aims to complete the project within the stipulated time. The total distance from Raydurgam to shamshabad is 31 km. It has been decided to undertake the construction of the Metro rail in the engineering, procurement, and construction method. Officials have prepared plans to start the work next month (September) and complete it in 36 months from the date of commencement of work. Alignment has already been completed on Rayadurgam - shamshabad route. Peg marking and soil tests are also done. As soon as the official announcement is made, the work will be handed over to the construction company. The work will be taken up in september itself. 29.3 km of elevated corridor and another 1.7 km of underground lines will be constructed on the 31 km airport route. The first phase of the metro was built on a design, build, finance, operate, and transfer basis. But airport Metro will be taken up entirely with government funds. So it will be built in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction method. The company that has taken over the project will undertake the engineering construction works along with the elevated viaduct. Tracks, rolling stock, electricity, telecommunications, an automatic fare system, and other facilities will be established.
