Integrated parking at 4 locations in Chennai at Rs.162 crores
On behalf of the chennai Corporation, permission has been given in the council meeting to seek government permission to set up integrated parking centers at a cost of Rs 162 crore at raja Annamalaipuram Commercial Complex, CP Ramasamy Road Commercial Complex, Kodambakkam Zonal Office, Thiagarayanagar Dr. Nair Road Old Commercial Complex.
Also, approval has been given to convert Broadway bus station into a transport terminal with a multi-purpose mall at Rs 300 crore, provide 53 Amma drinking water stations from chennai Corporation maintenance to chennai Drinking Water Board, and fill 1240 vacant posts in municipal schools with contract teachers.
Further, take 11th class students of Corporation schools as educational tours to Aavin, ennore Port, Anna Centenary Library, Takshina Chitra, Periyar Science and technology Center (Birla Planetarium), Transport Park, hyundai Factory, NEET, JEE etc. pass the exams,
Corporation school students enrolling only in government educational institutions of national importance, to pay their first year tuition fees at the expense of the corporation, to take the teachers who pass 100 percent in the public examinations of the 10th and 12th classes in the corporation schools as an educational tour, and the incentive given to them is from Rs.1500 to Rs. 3 thousand and permission has been given in the forum meeting.
Also, permission was given in the forum to erect a statue of Prof. K. Anpahagan in the school Education Department campus and to erect a statue of former prime minister VP Singh in the State college campus in honor of the centenary memory.
