Ilayaraja Refused to give Chance as I sang for AR Rahman
Singer Minmini says that music director ilayaraja stopped giving her a chance because she sang the song 'Chinna chinna Aasi' in the film 'Roja'.
Singer Minmini was introduced to tamil by ilayaraja in the film 'Meera' released in 1992. After that he had sung the song 'Masaru Ponne Varuga' which was featured in the movie 'Deva Magan' along with singer Swarnalatha. In 1992 AR rahman made his debut as a music director with the song 'Chinna chinna Aasa' featured in the film 'Roja' which took him to the top.
Singer Minmini said in a recent interview to a malayalam media that she lost the opportunity to work with ilayaraja after this song. ilayaraja himself, who came to the studio to record a song, said, 'He has started singing in a different place. Minmini said that he said, 'Let him continue to sing there' and the singer who was there comforted him when he was crying. He also stated that ilayaraja never invited him to sing after that event. After that, Minmini also said that AR rahman gave her an opportunity to sing the song 'Pachhaikkili Badum Patu' which was featured in the film 'Karuthamma'.
