Antilia bomb scare case: Ex-cop Pradeep Sharma gets interim bail
A retired senior police inspector named pradeep sharma was detained by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with the murder of Mansukh Hiran, the owner of a Thane-based auto accessory store, and the parking of an explosives-filled SUV outside Antilia, the south mumbai home of industrialist billionaire mukesh Ambani.
Sharma was detained in june 2021 as a result of confessions made by other defendants referencing him and technological data indicating his potential involvement in the murder and terrorism case. Sharma claimed not to have committed any wrongdoing and claimed to be a "victim of police rivalry" in prior court testimony. Sharma also entered a plea of innocence in the case. However, the bombay high court denied each of his several bail requests. pradeep sharma, a specialist in encounters, is rumoured to be linked to Sachin Vaze, a former mumbai police officer who has been detained by the central agency as the primary conspirator in both instances.
