Alia Bhatt shared a breakdown of her Met Gala debut outfit, a pearl-encrusted white ballgown by Prabal Gurung, on Monday. This year's Met Gala is a celebration to fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, and the red carpet was covered in pearls, white, and black, all Lagerfeld signatures. Alia's white dress was inspired by a 1992 bridal ensemble that Karl Lagerfeld designed for Chanel that Claudia Schiffer modelled. Alia's first Met Gala ensemble, which also paid homage to Karl Lagerfeld's and her own cats, was made with 100,000 pearls.

I feel very accomplished wearing you to my first Met. A female can never have too many pearls, as well as the appropriate accessories to complete the look, in our case my hair's pearl bow.
