According to authorities, a student who was being harassed by instructors committed himself by hanging himself inside a
college classroom on the outskirts of Hyderabad. On
tuesday night, Swatik, a class 11 student, hanged himself. His
students became aware of this and informed the
college administration. The injured was transferred to a hospital by the classmates after the management failed to intervene. He was pronounced deceased upon arrival. The
event occurred at a private residential
college in Gandipet under Narsingi
police station limits.
The body has been moved by
police to
osmania general hospital for an autopsy. Family, friends, and acquaintances of Swatik accused the
college administration of causing her suicide. They organised a protest and demanded that the management be punished. The
father of Swatik reported to the
police that two professors and the warden of the dorm were bullying and even beating his son. Also, he claimed that Swatik suffered insults in front of his peers, which contributed to his sadness.
According to the
police, a case has been filed, and an investigation is now ongoing. The state administration has also mandated an investigation into the incident in response to the outrage. P. Sabitha
indra Reddy, the
minister of
education, gave the secretary of the Board of Intermediate
education instructions to look into the matter.
