Brijbhushan: Allegations of se*ual harassment are wrong...

The Wrestling Federation of india (WFI) has sent a reply to the sports Ministry on the allegations of se*ual harassment. The wrestling association has denied all the allegations of the wrestlers and termed it as a conspiracy. The WFI in its reply said that there is no scope for arbitrariness and mismanagement in the sports body. All the allegations of misconduct and se*ual harassment against Brijbhushan Singh are false. For the first time in this matter, WFI has openly presented its stand.

In its reply to the sports Ministry, the WFI said, "WFI is managed by an elected body as per its constitution, so there is no scope for individual arbitrariness and mismanagement by anyone in the Wrestling Federation, including the President." It was said that WFI, especially under the supervision of the current president, has always worked keeping in mind the best interests of the wrestlers.

WFI boosts the image of wrestling at the international level

He said that WFI has enhanced the image of wrestling sport at the national and international level and it is necessary to state on the record of this Ministry that this is not possible without fair, supportive, clean and strict management of WFI. That after allegations made by famous wrestlers like Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, sakshi Malik and ravi Dahiya, the sports Ministry asked WFI to respond within 72 hours.

In the information that WFI has given to the government on the allegations of se*ual harassment, it is said that a se*ual harassment committee is active in the federation. If there was such a case then why the complaint was not given to the committee? Wrestler sakshi Malik also has a name on the se*ual harassment committee. She is also one of the main data-faces of the protests. The WFI claimed that the protest was being led and that wrestlers from a particular state (Haryana) joined it. This protest is motivated by vested interests because the wrestling association elections are going to be held at the end of this year.
