The ruling telangana rashtra samithi has intensified its campaign to oppose prime minister Narendra Modi's visit while the bharatiya janata party works to make it a huge success. In several locations in hyderabad as well as in Ramagundam, where the prime minister would dedicate Ramagunda Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd (RFCL) to the country on saturday afternoon, the trs has put up "Modi Go Back" posters.

For the past two days, the trs leaders have held press conferences in which they have questioned Modi's visit to the RFCL firm to launch it, nearly two years after it started producing. The party also waged a twitter battle against Modi for treating the state unfairly. In order to combat Modi, the trs government is simultaneously enlisting the aid of academics and civil society organisations. Up to 64 eminent people, including professors, wrote the PM an open letter on wednesday night asking him to clarify his position on ongoing Telangana-related issues.

They questioned Modi regarding the unresolved problems with the andhra pradesh Reorganisation Act, claiming that none of the promises made regarding a coach factory in Kazipet, a steel plant in Bayyaram, a tribal university, and incentives for businesses to locate their units in the state had been fulfilled. The academics questioned the Centre's choice to cancel the information technology investment region that telangana had been granted while still approving 22 software technology parks for other States. They emphasised that the union government has not assigned any new Navodaya Vidyalayas, medical colleges, or even national level educational institutions to the State.
