Bollywood Trolled South - Yash

SIBY JEYYA
There is no doubting that Baahubali, directed by SS Rajamouli, provided a platform for regional filmmaking on a national scale. And over the past few years, films in the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and kannada languages, including KGF, Kantara, RRR, and Pushpa, have succeeded in putting South Asian cinema on the map internationally. KGF's yash discussed how the audience in North india saw South films during a recent interview.

Yash remarked during his speech at the india Today Conclave, "Here, dubbed movies sprang to popularity ten years ago (North India). However, they all originally began to watch with diverse viewpoints. South flicks used to be made fun of. Yeh kya action hai, udd raha hai sab, they said (what is this action, everything is flying). That's how it began, and soon people became enthralled and began to comprehend that sort of art. The issue with that was that our movies were only offered for pennies on the dollar, the dubbing was of poor quality, and the names were offensive."

When asked about the success of Rishab Shetty's most recent hit movie, Kantara, Yash, a speaker from the kannada film industry, responded, "Kantara is also my movie." " Kantara is also a movie I made. You said that it wasn't my film, yet it is also mine. From the standpoint of my industry, I think we required that mentality change. It takes a lot of work to change people's perceptions of your industry once they start to judge you and speak negatively about it after you enter the public eye. You know people have the talent, the confidence, and all of that is fine. That was a significant effort."
