It is to be noted that the sivakasi Firecracker workers are fully cooperating with the Green Firecrackers Unit set up by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute.
Samples of sivakasi crackers have been tested to ensure adherence to environmental standards. Following this, sivakasi crackers makers are now planning to increase exports not only domestically but also abroad.
The cracker industry bosses have said that they are now producing 30% less polluting crackers than conventional crackers and are therefore focusing more on exports.Sivakasi Firecracker industries, which is currently producing and selling 6,000 crore crackers, is planning to export globally to challenge china and the government has promised to cooperate in this.
