Changes have been made by the government in the ration rules available under the Public Distribution Scheme. Accordingly, the beneficiaries will now have to scan their thumb twice to get the ration, not once. This change has been made by the government of Madhya Pradesh.

Central and madhya pradesh governments provide 5 kg of food grains to each person living below the poverty line. In such a case, the beneficiary should place his thumb twice in the name of the Central and State Govt. At present, the ration was available only by using a thumb drive at the Public Distribution System Centre. But now the government has made some changes in this system since October. Henceforth the beneficiaries have to thumb twice separately for the ration received by the central and state governments. This rule of the government of madhya pradesh has been implemented in every district of the state. It is to be noted that after this regulation, shopkeepers will take more time in distributing rations than before.
In madhya pradesh, the state government is providing 5 kg of food grains to the beneficiaries. Apart from this, a 5 kg ration is provided to the beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Garib kalyan Yojana. Both the rations are distributed from the control store. Till now, the beneficiaries used to get ration after putting their thumb. But now it is necessary to register your thumb twice to get both rations.
