First of all, if you are going to make a movie for locals, at least ensure to make the set designs related to locals. The bedroom set completely resembled hollywood films Conjuring, Lights Out, and so many. dhanush has been the sole savior once again with his sublime performance. Yuvan scores in background and 'Veera Soora' song alone. The best thing about the movie is the crisp running time.
The first half of the movie keeps us engaging even though we can feel lots of scenes have been repeated from several hollywood movies. But, the real downfall begins in second half with Kathir's flashback. elli avram has done a neat performance. But, the second half felt empty and there has been no reason why Kathir has turned out to be a Psycho despite he has a loving family. Also, the climax ends like Chirstopher Nolan's movies.
Overall, Naane Varuvean is yet another run of the mill with Selva's love for Psycho continues.
