The first phase of Varisu's shooting was done in chennai by the film crew, and the next phase of shooting was done in places like hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. The shooting of the film, which started last April, is currently going on for over 100 days.

Due to a sudden illness, he was admitted to the hospital. The doctors who treated him have advised him to rest for a week.
