Opinion: Audience Changed - Heroes Should Change

G GOWTHAM
The audience's tastes have drastically shifted. There may be numerous causes. This can be ascribed to the overexposure to daily entertainment on YouTube and social media, as well as the exposure to international films through OTT platforms. They are not interested in routine right now. They are not the same crowd that used to fling papers during the punchy dialogues of heroes in theatres. They reject the standard three battles and four songs of mass masala heroes.
The proof is unmistakable. The movies that followed in these veins fared horribly poorly at the box office. The films "Rama Rao On Duty" by Raviteja, "Warrior" by Ram, and "Macherla Niyojakavargam" by Nithiin all bombed miserably and vanished without a trace. However, the box office success of kalyan Ram's socio-fantasy "Bimbisara," Dulqar's cyclical creation "Sita Ramam," and Nikhil's mythical fiction "Karthikeya 2" was phenomenal.
The calibre of the audience increased. Filmmakers ought to make an effort to create works that appeal to the audience's tastes. They seek something unusual. The bottom line is that. Our heroes should be aware that the times when the audience would cheer for their favourite actors as they performed common tasks on screen are long gone. We require fresh directors, clever writers, and inventive tales. The industry can only prosper after that. The makers of bollywood and tollywood movies alike can learn from this example.
