Hyderabad gang rape: 5 juveniles, 1 major arrested
Three of the five suspects, according to the authorities, were minors. However, police Commissioner C.V. anand said during a press conference on tuesday night that one of the accused, who had been believed to be a major, was only a month shy of turning 18. The police head stated that they have substantial evidence against individuals who committed gang rape and that they will be tried in a special court and that they might data-face a sentence of not less than 20 years in jail, life imprisonment until death, or perhaps the death penalty.
Sections 376 D (gang rape), 323 (causing pain), Section 5g read with 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 366 and 366 A (kidnapping), and Section 67 of the Information technology Act have been filed against the five accused. The sixth Child in Conflict with the Law (CCL) did not rape the victim, but he kissed her in the car. He was charged under Sections 354, 323 of the IPC and Sections 9 G and 10 of the POCSO Act. He could data-face a sentence of 5-7 years in prison. The CCLs took the recordings while kissing the girl inside the car, according to the police Commissioner, and then disseminated them on social media.
