Small onions are predominantly grown in Namakkal, Rasipuram, Puduchathram, Erumappatti, Pavithram, and Mallasamudram in Namakkal district. A storage facility is currently being constructed to preserve these onions, as prices are predicted to skyrocket at any moment.

As a result, farmers have suffered greatly. Farmers are pleading with the government to intervene so that they are not harmed.

Small onions are cultivated on 6,000 hectares in Namakkal district, according to officials from the Namakkal district Horticulture Department Assistant Director's Office.
