The governor of the Central bank said in a statement released on wednesday that Sri Lankans living overseas require assistance to recover from the country's current difficulties. They should donate the foreign currency that sri lanka need. To assist donations, bank accounts have been established in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany. I pledge to spend remittances sent by Sri Lankans residing abroad solely where they are required. 


According to him, the central bank ensures that foreign exchange would only be used to import critical goods such as money, food, medication, and fuel. Yesterday (Tuesday), the Sri Lankan government stated that it will be unable to fulfil its $ 51 billion international debt. Nandalal Weerasinghe, the governor of the Central bank, has urged Sri Lankans residing abroad to pay remittances to help import basic products.
