Chief minister Stalin has ordered the victims' families to contribute Rs 2 lakh each from the Chief Minister's General Relief Fund, expressing his sympathies to the families of the victims of the van accident in Chambarai village in tirupati district. In this regard, the chief minister of tamil Nadu issued a press release: Durga, wife of Parasuraman of Puliyur village, and his daughters Pavithra and sharmila were killed when a van carrying approximately 30 people from mathura Puliyur village, Nellivasal Nadu, tirupati district, crashed into a gully. I was heartbroken to learn that six people had perished on the spot, including my wife Selvi, Sukandara, Venthan's wife, and Mangai, Kullappan's wife.

In addition, about 22 persons were injured in the same accident and I have ordered special treatment at the tirupati Government Hospital and expeditious rescue operations. It said it had ordered immediate relief of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the victims and Rs 50,000 each to the injured from the Chief Minister's General Relief Fund. Eleven people from the same hill village were killed when a van heading to a temple in a hill village near tirupati overturned in a 50-foot ravine.
