Life Sentence for the guy who harassed a Young Girl
A madurai cattle dealer was sentenced to life in prison for kidnapping and sexually abusing a minor by the Pudukottai Women's Court. Thamaraichelvan (31) is from Konnaipatti, madurai district, near Melur. He's been in the cattle industry for a long time. In this capacity, he has visited the home of someone in a village near Ponnamaravathi in the Pudukkottai district on several occasions. Then, claiming to be married to her, he kidnapped a 14-year-old girl who attended school in 2019. Later, the authorities rescued the abducted girl based on evidence provided by the parents, and it was revealed that Tamara Selvan had sexually molested her.
Tamara Selvan, who had filed a case against him under several sections including Bokso, was detained by Ponnamaravathi police. Mani (38), a Narsanthupatti resident, was also detained for supporting Tamara Selvan in the investigation. After a three-year trial, Judge satya of the Pudukkottai Women's court ruled in the case. Tamaraich Selvan was found guilty of kidnapping the girl and was sentenced to seven years in prison and a fine of Rs 20,000. If the fine is not paid, the victim will be sentenced to another year in prison, and the tamil Nadu government would have to pay the victim Rs 3.8 lakh in compensation.
Mani was released as his guilt was not proven. Following this, Tamara Selvan was taken to Trichy Central Jail. Meanwhile, district Superintendent of police Nisha parthiban lauded the police for conducting a proper investigation to ensure that the accused in the case get proper punishment.
