Tilak Thirumavalavan, the head of the Liberation Tigers of tamil Eelam (LTTE), has urged that the tamil Nadu government develop a system to provide support to agricultural workers during non-agricultural months, similar to how fishermen were helped during the fishing embargo. He added that the government of tamil Nadu's 'Agricultural Finance Report,' which functions under the motto 'Let's pay tribute to ploughing and industry,' is to encourage farmers in his remark on the tamil Nadu Agriculture Budget. On behalf of the Liberation Tigers of tamil Eelam, we warmly applaud this.
Agriculture accounts for about 6.3 percent of state budgets in India. The DMK-led tamil Nadu government, on the other hand, is allocating around 8% more than the national average. This year, 33,007 crore has been set aside for the agriculture sector. This is more than the AIADMK government's final allocation. Farmers experienced tremendous crises during the reign of Edappadi Palanisamy, who pretended to be a farmer. The DMK government has a track record of changing positions in less than ten months. That is something for which we are grateful.
The 'All village Integrated Development Plan' has been newly created in the name of former chief minister Karunanidhi with an allocation of Rs. 300 crore. Through this development projects will be implemented in 3204 village panchayats. A new scheme called 'State Agricultural Development Plan' has been launched at an estimated cost of Rs. 71 crore to promote organic farming. 2546 crore has been allocated for the crop insurance scheme this year.
