According to tamil Nadu congress Committee Chairman KS Alagiri, a separate financial statement has been submitted to the farmers with the Chief Minister's instructions in order to safeguard the farmers' livelihood. "The first entire budget for agriculture has been tabled as promised in DMK President MK Stalin's election programme and campaign," he said in a statement on the tamil Nadu Agriculture Budget today. Agriculture has received special attention, with its own budget. There has been a total of Rs.33007 Crores recorded.

Because the canals in the Cauvery delta districts are not aligned, most of the water required for canals is used for agriculture. To address this, Rs. 80 crore has been set aside, with the possibility of canal repair work. Rs 300 crore has been set aside for free coconuts, while Rs 960 crore has been set aside for drip irrigation.

A total of Rs 15 crore has been set aside to repair 50 farmers' markets that were neglected by the previous AIADMK administration, as well as Rs 10 crore to establish new farmers' markets. Farmers now have another chance to sell their produce at farmers' markets and receive a fair price. New programmes to encourage farmers to grow coconut, mango, guava, and banana have been introduced.
