Consumer Court: Free carry bags- D'mart!!!
The carry bag problem is small .. but .. the number of users facing that problem is high. Let's imagine we purchase for four and a half thousand rupees and buy the desired household goods. But if you want to take away the carry bag for free .. you will be charged for it.
On the other hand, on the carry bag given for money .. there is also the logo of the company. That is .. the customer is also doing promotion .. in relation to the company on the one hand. It should be given for free then?
Some retailers charge from Rs.3 to Rs.15 for carrying bags. They are printing their company names and using the customer as a promotional agent.
This is what akash Kumar of Tarnaka in hyderabad complained about. Akash .. bought the goods on May 11, 2019, at D'mart in Hyderabad. The bill was Rs.602.70. De Mard asked them for a carry bag and charged Rs 3.50.
Although the name of the company is printed, akash has approached the district Consumer Commission in hyderabad to collect the charge.
D'Mart stated in writing that the plaintiffs' allegations were baseless. That said, there are bags that are branded and not. Whether to take them or not is up to the customer.
The Consumer Commission, which responded to this, said that your claims were, in fact, irrelevant. customers are asked to bring a carry bag to a special counter at the entrance.
However .. according to the Plastic Management Rules, 2011 handbags should not be given for free. But, according to the rules amended and notified on march 27, 2018, the Consumer Commission said that it should be given to consumers free of cost. Showing the ever old rules ..
Commenting not to charge money from customers. Made it clear that it was robbing customers. If the judgment is not enforced within 45 days, 18 per cent interest will be added to the amount payable.
