D-Day has arrived: IPL 2022 Retention!!
Today marks the last date for franchisees who have to submit the final list of retained players. The final list has to be submitted before the IPL Auction. The IPL 2022 has expanded with the addition of two new teams namely lucknow and Ahmedabad. The previous teams will be playing against the new contenders which adds the extra bit of competitiveness. The new team ahmedabad can pick three players starting december 1st. They can spend around INR 33 crore for each player. The first player INR 15 crore, second player INR 7 crore, and third player INR 7 crore. Two indian players have to be in the three players. The CSK Retained players are:
The indian five-star players who are released are KL rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Chahal, and hardik Pandya. The overseas players released by the Franchises are Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada, David Warner, Jofra Archer, Faf Du Plessis. Head Coach Anil Kumble tried his part to convince KL rahul to be in punjab Kings but he seems to be adamant to go under the hard hammer. PBKS has around INR 72 crore left at Auction. The cost of retaining the players will be high amounts and also if they use all the four options for retention, then the amount left at auction would be INR 42 crores.
