Foods like pizza and burgers can harm our hearts if consumed on a daily basis, but a new study has discovered that these foods include compounds that can cause serious health concerns such as respiratory and neurological issues.
Researchers from Georgetown university, the Southwestern Research Institute (San Antonio, Texas), Boston university, and Howard university collaborated on this new research, which was reported in the quarterly Journal of Exposure Science & Environmental Epidemiological studies. Famous food franchises like burger King, pizza Hut, McDonalds, and Chipotle were found to be using a material called phthalates, which helps keep plastic pliable.
A total of 64 specimens of hamburgers, chips, chicken wings, chicken sandwiches, and cheese quesadilla were gathered from these locations, with over 80% of the food containing the phthalate DnBP and 70% containing the phthalate DEHP. These substances have been related to major health difficulties such as asthma, mental damage in children, and reproductive system problems. Meat-based foods, such as burritos and hamburgers, had the highest levels of toxins, whereas cheese pizza had the least.
