Indian Boxer Lovlina Borgohain lost her semis against Turkey's Busenaz Surmeneli and she has to now settle down with a Bronze Medal and the Turkish player won on a unanimous decision in all the rounds. During the first round, Busenaz won by a margin of 5-0 and the aggressive start from the Turkish World champion took Lovlina Borgohain by backfoot and as she rained punches Lovlina was at the receiving end with no choice other than to get into defensive mode.

Even the second bout also went in favor of the Turkish champion and the worst is Lovlina also grabbed a point deduction. However, this 23-year-old girl from assam has already made an impact and made the Nation proud by bagging a Bronze medal. She started her career as a Muay Thai practitioner and now she is only the Third indian Boxer to grab a medal for India.

The other two medalists in Boxing for india are Vijender Singh in 2008 and Mary Kom in 2012. It should be noted that Mary Kom lost in this year's olympics and return empty-handed. Lovlina's father said, "I knew my daughter will be sad as she was desiring to win the gold medal. I will go directly to the airport to receive her. I never watch her matches live and I am happy with the Bronze."
