Head hair falls, but why not beard or body hair?
Head hair fall has become a common problem. Every person is troubled by the problem of head hair fall. Head hair fall has become a common problem, but very few people wonder why beard and body hair do not fall? Actually, the reason for head hair fall is physically and biologically different and the fall of other body hair, such as beard and body hair, is different from this. Let us know why head hair starts falling rapidly but why this does not happen with body hair.
Hair growth occurs due to this hormone
Head hair fall and beard and body hair not falling is due to hormonal differences. Our head hair is mainly affected by a hormone called DHT (dihydrotestosterone). This hormone weakens the hair roots, due to which head hair starts falling. On the other hand, testosterone has an effect on beard and body hair, which promotes the growth of these hairs and prevents them from falling. In this way, hormonal differences make a difference in the behavior of head and body hair. The process of growth and loss of our body hair is controlled by genes. Decline and thinning of head hair is usually due to androgenetic alopecia (genetic baldness), which is found in the body of both men and women. This condition is especially responsible for head hair. On the other hand, the growth pattern of beard and body hair is different, which is usually genetically determined. Because of this, the fall or thinning of body hair is much less than that of the head.
When does head hair fall?
The life cycle of head hair is different from other body hair. The life cycle of head hair is long in terms of growth time, while the life cycle of body hair is short. Scalp hair fall occurs primarily during the telogen phase of the hair cycle where hair growth stops and they start falling. Body hair, on the other hand, has a shorter life cycle and hence they fall less frequently and are often replaced by new hair. Scalp hair also falls due to stress or an unhealthy lifestyle.
