Apart from this, Skoda auto is eyeing the growing indian EV market. It may launch a mass-market EV priced below Rs 20 lakh in the next few years.

Upcoming Skoda Compact SUV

Skoda india currently has three products in its portfolio, namely the Slavia sedan, Kushaq, and Kodiaq SUVs. Apart from this, the company is also going to enter the highly competitive sub-4 meter SUV segment. According to some reports, the new Skoda subcompact SUV may be launched next year. It is worth noting that the company is currently busy in the process of setting up an assembly line for this upcoming model.

Design

After its launch, the new Skoda subcompact SUV will compete with models like the maruti Suzuki Brezza, hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and mahindra XUV300. This model will come under Skoda's india 2.5 project and will be based on the MQB A0 IN platform. The MQB A0 IN platform is a branch of volkswagen Group's MAB A0 platform, developed specifically for developing markets. Skoda has already used this architecture for its Slavia and Kushaq models. The platform is highly localized and designed to accommodate different wheelbases and multiple suspension configurations. Additionally, it includes a range of driver-assist features and offers different levels of navigation and entertainment systems.

Engine

Although not many details are available about its engine setup yet, the new Skoda subcompact SUV will likely be equipped with the company's 1.0L TSI turbo petrol engine, which will be available with both manual and automatic transmission options.
