Maruti Suzuki remained at the forefront
India's largest OEM maruti Suzuki remained at the top as the country's leading SUV maker with its models like Brezza, Grand Vitara, and Jimny. The Indo-Japanese automaker posted total retail sales of 1,50,812 units as against 1,48,380 units in september 2022.
Hyundai remained in second place
Hyundai Motor india achieved its highest-ever monthly sales with a total of 54,241 units. Creta, Venue, and Exeter were major contributors to this sale. However, Tata Motors data-faced a sales decline of 6.0 percent year-on-year and the company sold a total of 44,810 units this year compared to 47,655 units in september last year. The reason for the decline in sales could be the wait for the arrival of new models of Harrier and Safari.
Mahindra remained in fourth place
Mahindra & mahindra secured the fourth position with total sales of 41,267 units and the XUV700 recorded its highest-ever monthly sales. toyota Kirloskar Motor also continued to perform admirably, with the company registering sales of 22,168 units and a growth of over 44 percent year-on-year.
Highest sales of SUV
SUV sales hit an all-time high last month, with the Tata Nexon being India's best-selling SUV with sales of 15,325 units as compared to 14,518 units in september 2022, up 6 percent. maruti Suzuki Brezza took second place in sales with 15,001 units. Whereas Tata Punch sold a total of 13,036 units during this period and stood at third position. hyundai Creta led the mid-data-size SUV segment and was India's fourth best-selling SUV in september 2023, with 12,717 units sold. Whereas it was followed by hyundai Venue with 12,204 units.
