Step-by-Step Guide: Uploading Live Photos to Instagram on iPhone

1. Open the Photos App

Go to the Photos app on your iphone and locate the Live Photo you want to share. Live Photos capture a few seconds of motion and sound.

2. Convert Live Photo to Video or Boomerang

Instagram doesn’t directly support Live Photos, so you need to convert it:

  • Option 1: Using Instagram’s Boomerang feature
Open instagram and tap + to create a new post.

Swipe up to access your gallery.

Select the Live Photo, then tap Boomerang (Instagram will convert it into a looping video).

  • Option 2: Using iOS Photos App
Open the Live Photo.

Tap Share → Save as Video.

This converts your Live Photo into a short video ready for Instagram.

3. Upload to Instagram

  • Open instagram and tap + → Post.
  • Select the converted video or Boomerang from your gallery.
  • Add filters, captions, tags, or location if desired.
  • Tap Share to post it to your feed.
4. Optional: Use instagram Stories

You can also upload Live Photos to Instagram Stories:

Open instagram Stories.

Swipe up to select the Live Photo.

If needed, convert it to a Boomerang using the Boomerang icon.

Post it to your Story with stickers, text, or effects.
