Transgenders forced to strip to prove their Gender..?
Four transgender people came out of a hotel in Tripura last saturday night after finishing a party. They were attending the dj party when one policeman and a man claiming reporter stopped them. The four transgender people were taken to the West Agartala Women's police station by the police on a complaint that they had extorted money from passers-by.

 In that place, male and female police officers reportedly forcibly stripped transgender people of their clothing to determine their gender. Their character and dress code were questioned by them. They were accused of false gender identity also by them. It is also said that the police had written to them saying that they would not walk around the city wearing cross-dresses and that they would be arrested if they wore such dresses.

In this context, various parties have condemned the police for insulting transgender people at the police station. The victim transgender people said that they have been charged with extorting money without any evidence.

 They also claim that this is a completely false accusation. A report on the incident has been requested and the culprits will be punished, Tripura police said.
